Firebell privacy policy
Last updated: 18 July 2026
Firebell monitors Shopify stores and alerts their owners when something breaks. This policy explains what information we handle to do that, in plain language.
What we collect
When you install Firebell, we store:
- Your shop's myshopify.com domain
- The page addresses you ask us to watch, and the results of our checks (response times, up/down history)
- The alert email address and optional Slack webhook you provide
- Your storefront password, only if you choose to provide one so we can test password-protected stores
- Your subscription plan, so we know which features to provide
What we never collect
We do not collect, store, or process any data about your customers. No names, emails, orders, addresses, or browsing behaviour. Our checkout tests stop before any payment or personal information would be entered.
How we use it
Solely to run the service: checking your pages, testing your checkout, and sending you alerts and reports. We do not sell or share your information with anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it lives
Data is stored on servers in London (Fly.io) and alert emails are sent via Resend. Both are bound by their own security and privacy commitments.
Deletion
Uninstalling Firebell deletes your monitors, history, and settings. Shopify additionally sends us a final erasure request 48 hours after uninstall, which removes anything remaining. You can also email us at any time to request deletion.
